THEFELIXPROJECT
I have been volunteering with "THEFELIXPROJECT" Commencing January 28th, 2026, my engagement timeline, reflecting my affiliations with various organizations, will be documented and regularly updated below.
My initial volunteering experience took place in Bellingham, South London, as part of the "Felix Fresh" initiative. During this event, my fellow volunteers and I distributed fresh produce, including potatoes, cabbage, parsley, carrots, organic carrots, apples, and bananas, to community members.
This effort was aimed at preventing food waste and providing nutritious options to individuals who may be facing economic challenges, particularly given the current cost of living.
The afternoon concluded with a sense of accomplishment, knowing that we had contributed to both reducing food waste and supporting the community. Furthermore, this event provided an excellent opportunity to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
A memorable interaction involved inquiring about the intended use of the bananas, with responses ranging from banana bread and ice cream to freezing them for later consumption.
Speaking with members of the community, to my knowledge, some of the individuals who had attended the event (from public view) actually came to also bring food back for their vulnerable neighbors who could not make the journey themselves.
After the event, I spoke with members of the Felix Project, which gave me the opportunity to openly learn about others' interests. During the session, I managed to speak to an ex-police officer who told me his experiences, in which I was very interested.
